Entre mediados de la década de 1950 y durante la década de 1960, se generan transformaciones significativas en el contexto internacional, que condicionan las estrategias de la gran burguesía agraria en Argentina, y modifican su peso en la estructura económica nacional y su poder de intervención en el ámbito político. El propósito es aquí analizar la congruencia entre los paradigmas vigentes empleados para analizar los procesos de desarrollo rural en América Latina desde fin de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el proceso histórico en torno a las concepciones políticas sobre el rol del ámbito agrario, y los posicionamientos de esta burguesía que intenta conservar su ya fragmentada posición de dominación, sus intereses y privilegios sectoriales. Between the mid 1950 and during the sixties, are generated significant changes in the international context, which determine the strategies of large agrarian bourgeoisie in Argentina, which change their weight in the national economic structure and its power of intervention in the political arena.
