El artículo analiza el debate sobre la Revolución Cubana en la izquierda newyorkina a través de la revista Monthly Review, fundada y dirigida por los marxistas Paul M. Sweezy y Leo Huberman en 1949. Se reconstruye el estado de la reflexión marxista sobre la economía capitalista, especialmente para los países en desarrollo, en la obra de Paul Sweezy y Leo Huberman y en Monthly Review, en la primera década de la publicación, de 1949 a 1959. Y se aportan elementos a la historia de las relaciones de Monthly Review y sus directores con la Revolución Cubana, para inscribir esas relaciones dentro de la historia mayor de los encuentros y desencuentros entre la izquierda newyorkina y el socialismo cubano durante la década de 1960. The article analyzes the debate on the Cuban Revolution in New York Left through Monthly Review, the journal founded and run by Marxists Paul M. Sweezy and Leo Huberman in 1949. It reconstructs the state of Marxist reflection on capitalist economy, especially for developing countries, in the work of Paul Sweezy and Leo Huberman and in Monthly Review in the first decade of its publication, from 1949 to 1959.
